On sale now at The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas are a recently donated collection of vintage art magazines and journals, the proceeds of which will be used to buy new material for the NAGB Library. We will be selling these items every Saturday until the end of 2011.

Azerbaijan, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Afghanistan – Catastrophic Flooding. Kyrgyzstan and Bangladesh – Landslides displacing people and threatening lives. Pakistan – More than 20 million people injured or homeless due to flooding. Sumatra – Volcano eruption relocates 12,000 people — and all of this in the first 8 months of 2010 alone!
Artist Talk & Final Exhibition Walk-Through with RAS ISHI
The NAGB invites its members and the general public to an Artist Talk with Barbadian artist Ras Ishi Butcher on Tuesday, June 29 at 6.30pm. He will give a presentation of his work and also take us through a final walk through of his stunning exhibition at the NAGB.
NAGB Announces Leave of Absence of Director Dr. Erica James
The National Art Gallery announces the leave of absence of its Current Director, Dr. Erica James, and the appointment of David A. Bailey as Acting Director and Visiting Resident Curator in her absence. The founding director of the National Art Gallery Dr. Erica James will take a year long sabbatical to serve as a Post Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Art History and Archaeology at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in 2010.
